FOUNDER OF WOMAN UNWRITTEN
LORI BELLMAN
“There comes a moment when you realize your life is still yours to write.”
— Lori Bellman

WHERE THIS BEGAN
To share the founding of Woman Unwritten, I have to go back to 2016—to a women's leadership conference in Cleveland, where I met Erika Roman Saint-Pierre.
From the moment we met, there was an immediate connection. One of those rare moments where something feels familiar before words are even spoken.
Over time, that connection grew into a friendship rooted in trust, long conversations, and a shared love of poetry—writing that explored the depth of the female experience: our strength, our wildness, our desires, our betrayals, our resilience.
“The parts of our lives that are often felt deeply, but rarely spoken out loud.”
“The right people remind you of who you are.”
THE POWER OF EXPRESSION
In the quiet moments at the end of the day, Erika and I would return to those conversations.
We began exchanging poetry through text—lines, fragments, metaphors—back and forth over months and years. What started as expression became something more. A space where we could be fully honest, unfiltered, and seen.
Through that process, I experienced firsthand the power of what happens when women are given space to reflect, uncover, and share their truth.
It became clear that what we were writing was not just personal—it was collective. We were capturing something larger.
“A shared language. A living herstory.”

EMBRACE
Poems That Undress The Silence
Published February 2026 · Poetry · Women’s Voices
When we made the decision to publish Embrace: Poems That Undress The Silence, I knew it was important to expand beyond our voices.
Chrissy Costa and Renée Kogler joined us as collaborators, bringing their own perspectives, experiences, and depth to the work.
Published in February 2026, Embrace quickly reached Top Female Poetry Book status on Amazon Kindle.
But more meaningful than recognition was what it represented—
“A space where women's voices were fully expressed—without softening, without apology.”

A DEEPER KNOWING
That experience affirmed something I had long felt:
“Storytelling is one of the most powerful tools we have as women—for connection, healing, and transformation.”
But this work didn't begin—or end—with a book.

MY PATH
As a licensed yoga instructor and wellness coach, I've spent years guiding women back to themselves—through movement, breath, meditation, and intentional living.
Through my travels across the U.S. and abroad, I've had the opportunity to connect with women from different cultures and backgrounds.
And across all of those experiences, one truth remained constant:
“Women are often deeply connected to others… but disconnected from themselves.”
“Woman Unwritten was born at the intersection of these experiences.”
